We went out to eat today, something we do very rarely. Wrangling four kids in a restaurant is usually the opposite of fun and relaxing, but today we really had a nice dinner. Everyone was in a good mood, nobody puked, no potty emergencies; just a nice happy dinner with four sweet kids. It was Katie's turn to pick where we went, and we complimented her on her choice to which she responded (and this is a direct quote), "Yes, I'm glad we came here because everyone seemed to enjoy it." Later in the car, she asked if anyone had anything to say to her.....it turns out she was looking for a "thank you." As far as she was concerned, she had just treated us to dinner.
The funniest moment, though, was when the waitress announced that a woman behind us had eaten their famous one-pound burger. After the announcement, the humiliated woman was subjected to applause and then photographed standing next to a giant stuffed hamburger. The girls were naturally very impressed with this, and Katie began urging Chris to do it himself one day. "You could do it, I know you could" she told him in all sincerity, "because you have a big belly and I know that hamburger would fit in there!"
